Virtual desktop steam12/9/2023 ![]() Opening properties shows "no jack information available". Opening the sound manger shows that the audio is going to it, as the green bar is moving up and down. VD's native audio does not detect my HDMI audio out either. I usually get audio out for my PC from my GPU's HDMI port if I'm not using headphones, and through my WMR through headphones with the audio jack on the HMD. I get no audio out using VD's audio driver. I have a WMR HMD, but it's the same for any other plug for sound output on my PC. So I'm not left without any audio in VR, but this means I can't use Milkdrop to visualize music, or the audio settings in the VD GUI. For example I can select Headphones from the Playback Devices list and get sound. I can switch over to another output device and get sound. I've poked around in the Windows sound settings and haven't found an obvious fix. VD doesn't connect to any audio output on my computer at all for some reason. Changed this to "off" and 99% of my stuttering went away and it's perfectly playable now in Virtual Desktop.I'm on Windows 10 and am using the headphone jack on my HMD, but the problem persists no matter where I plug in my audio out on my PC, all my available options don't recieve audio output when using Virtual Desktop Audio. Turns out having Vsync forced to "on" in the Nvidia Control Panel was my problem. It's just with SteamVR.Įdit 2: Problem solved. Has anybody else had this problem and found a way to fix it? I would really like to be able to play SteamVR games wirelessly if I can.Įdit: I am connected to the correct 5ghz network and doing anything else within Virtual Desktop is perfectly smooth with no judders. ![]() I've also tried with ALVR and it's actually even worse in ALVR. Using SteamVR through Oculus Link with a cable seems to be fine, it's just when I try to do it wirelessly that it gets all stuttery and get a bunch of reprojected frames happening (despite my frametimes being in the 9-10ms range). If I only move my head around, it seems to be fine, but as soon as I actually strafe around the space, it stutters alot and is practically unusuable. I just recently got an Oculus Quest and I'm trying to get SteamVR to work (smoothly) wirelessly, but despite having good hardware (R9 3900X paired with GTX 1080ti) and low latency (20-23ms) being reported in the Virtual Desktop application, SteamVR just doesn't want to run smoothly for me in Virtual Desktop.
