Eitr norse12/8/2023 Granted not in all cases does that apply. I hate a movie that just lays everything out on a plater for easy consumption. Its just one of them many many questions that this movie raised. As it was described in the leaked script. I just find it rather convenient in the scope of the movie and its internet presence one of the resources listed from the definition point of view is virtually the same as the black goo. Possibly giving reason for the engineer in the movie to become so angry? Whats the purpose of the androids blood? Could it be a human made form of the black goo that has given life to something that shouldn't have "life"? But given that the androids dont have a need for breathing. I know this might be stretching things a bit. Does anyone know what the white fluid that is present in the androids of the Alien/Prometheus universe is? Looking forward to peoples thoughts on this!Īlso I want to add. I haven't seen any discussion on this aspect of the Prometheus "experience". Are they after it for the research potential or are they after the origins of Eitr? Since according to the financial report the mineral eitr is in short supply. So many questions! When one thinks about Weyland-Yutani's obsession with capturing the Alien in the movies for bio weapons research. Is the mineral Eitr used in anyway in the construction of the Davids? What I am wondering is why Weyland lists a mineral that is named after a mythical liquid that seems to have the same exact properties as the Black Goo from Prometheus? Is the black goo actually made by the Engineers or did they harvest it from something else? Does the mineral listed on Weylands website have the same attributes as the black goo. Given what we see in the movie this is very intriguing! Also there is a rather interesting discussion about the thematic elements in regards to the religious aspects of the story with in Prometheus in this post that was discussed in another thread on here. The substance is supposed to be very poisonous and is also produced by Jörmungandr (the Midgard serpent) and other serpents. This liquid substance is the origin of all living things, the first giant Ymir was conceived from eitr. From wikipedia.Įitr: Eitr is a mythical substance in Norse mythology. Looking that up we find a rather interesting definition. There is a listing for resources and one of the resources is something called Eitr. Been doing some digging and haven't seen much on an interesting little thing on the Weyland Investors Information part of Weyland's site.
